Governance and the school board

UDIS has a school board which comprises of members from the parent company of UDIS, Udon International Education Partnership, educational representatives from the Ministry of Education and members from the local business and educational communities. The current board for the 2022/2023 academic year is:

The role of the Executive Board is to ensure that UDIS provides students with a good education. The Executive Board sets the plans and policies of the school, and oversights the employment of school staff and the management of the school budget.

The Board includes members in several important roles:

Head of School (HOS)
The HOS sits on the Board and the HOS is responsible to the Board for the educational performance of the School and for the internal organisation, management and control of the School. The performance of the HOS is appraised by the Board annually.

Parent representatives
The Board includes one or more parent representatives which are elected by parents. The parent representative is responsible for representing the issues of parents on the Board and may bring parent concerns to the Board for consideration. The parent representative may be asked during Board meetings what parents may think about certain issues but the representative does not need to canvas other parents opinions before meetings.

Teacher representatives
The Board includes one or more teacher representatives which are elected by teachers. The teachers representative is responsible for representing the issues of teachers on the Board and may bring teacher concerns to the Board for consideration. The teacher representative may be asked during Board meetings what teachers may think about certain issues but the representative does not need to canvas other teachers opinions before meetings.
