Our Executive School Board

UDIS has a school board which comprises of members from the parent company of UDIS, Udon International Education Partnership, educational representatives from the Ministry of Education and members from the local business and educational communities. Our current School Board is comprised a wonderful group of talented people as follows:

Siriphat Pukpo - Chairperson & Licensee

Siriphat has been involved in all levels of education for over 15 years in Thailand. She is also currently the licensee of Kornprapaphat Bilingual School (KPBS) in Khon Kaen which was one of the first English programmes to be launched in Khon Kaen in 2004. She has also been involved in the administration of universities, polytechnics and has been a prominent member of the Khon Kaen Private School’s Committee for many years. Siriphat has education in her blood, and lives and breathes for the development of student learning in Isaan.

K. Pairat Tivakornpannarai - Parents Representative

Pairat is a businessman with over 30 years’ experience working in multinational oil & gas, mineral, engineering, and logistic companies. He graduated from Chulalongkorn University with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration in Marketing and received a scholarship from Shell Thailand to extend his MBA studies at the SASIN Graduate Institute of Business Administration of Chulalongkorn University. Khun Pairat has strong experience in business development, brand, and marketing management. He understands current market challenges and applies his business knowledge to support the school in enhancing its marketing and communication tactics and to provide advice on how to position and strengthen the UDIS brand strategically for sustainable growth.

Carl Spear - Parents Representative

Carl is a parent of a Year 11 learner at the school and originally hails from New Zealand. He has recently retired after a long career in the food industry in the Middle East where he worked with well known international brands. Carl has experience of international schools including in Dubai where he was a parent of Dubai American Academy and a member of the Greenfields school board. He is an enthusiastic advocate for higher education and the IB programmes having previously had two daughters graduating with the IB Diploma. 

K. Nuttaradee Phumongkolsuriya - Honorary Member

Nuttaradee has been involved in education for over 20 years in Thailand and is an experienced school and college administrator. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Udon Thani Rajabhat University and also completed a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Khon Kaen University and a second Master’s Degree in Education Administration from Ramkhamhaeng University. Nuttaradee has an excellent understanding of educational administration and human resources administration. She is passionate about providing more opportunities to disadvantaged children to access education so that they will have better careers for the future. Her family owns and operates the Nongbua Pitchaya Football Club and Udon United Football Club, which are further ways to support disadvantaged children through the provision of pathways to become professional football players so they have a better quality of life. She will aim to use her experience in education, and her passion to support children, to help develop Udon Thani International School and its students in many different ways through her involvement in the board.

Phirawan Changsirivathanathamrong, MD. - Honorary Member

Dr. Phirawan graduated with a medical degree (MBBS) from the University of New South Wales, Sydney, Australia in 2001. She is a member of the Australian medical council and has been practicing medicine with a specialty in dermatology for over 20 years. Dr. Phirawan is a Medical Director at Nongkhai-Wattana Hospital and Assistant Medical Director at North-Eastern Wattana Hospital, Udon Thani. She has extensive experience as a medical coordinator for both Thai and foreign patients. As a board member of UDIS, she conveys parents’ expectations and provides feedback on the academic outcomes of the MYP curriculum.

K. Sineenard Chamat - School Director

Nard received her Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Education from Suan Dusit University. She went on to further her education by receiving her Master’s Degree in Education Administration from Khon Kaen University. She is an experienced teacher who has taught in Bangkok, Khon Kaen and now she is the Thai Director in Udon Thani at UDIS. Nard has  over 20 years experience working in education and she has been able to mentor, train and develop other teachers throughout her career. She has continued to keep up with current teaching practices by participating in various training courses from ISAT and IB programmes. These courses keep her up to date with best practices and she has been able to continue her education journey to continue developing Thai curriculum education in international school settings.

Thomas Karisa - Teachers Representative

Thomas is a qualified teacher from the UK with a Primary Education degree from Canterbury Christ Church University. He also holds the Certificate in School Management and Leadership from Harvard Graduate School of Education. With over 12 years of teaching and leadership experience, Thomas has worked in the UK, Kuwait, Thailand, Indonesia and Russia.

Thomas’ personal interests include performing arts, international cuisine and environmental science. Thomas is enthusiastic about language learning and specialised in second language acquisition of young learners. He also passionately believes in the PYP learning philosophy as it promotes student agency, essential skills to nurture engaged lifelong learners and increased local and global community awareness.

Dr. Lindsay Stuart - Head of School

Lindsay is an experienced school administrator with over 15 years’ experience working in education in Thailand. Lindsay hails from New Zealand, where he graduated from the University of Canterbury with Bachelor degrees in Arts and Science before completing a PhD in Information Systems. He also holds a Master’s degree from Mahidol University in Thailand and a Postgraduate Diploma in Educational Administration from Massey University in New Zealand. Lindsay has an excellent understanding of educational administration, learning and technology and uses that knowledge to guide and shape exciting learning programmes for the students of Udon Thani International School.
